Job summary

Maybank in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Java Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, scalable enterprise applications.

You will work on Java applications and microservices, ensure security and performance, and participate in design discussions to shape scalable solutions. The role requires a Bachelor's in CS/IT and 3–5 years of hands-on Java experience with Spring, REST, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Min 3–5 years hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong Java 8+ and Spring Framework expertise.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Familiar with relational databases (Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP) desirable; messaging platforms (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Git, Maven/Gradle, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Secure coding practices and good problem-solving/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java applications and microservices.
• Write clean, maintainable code following standards and best practices.
• Enhance systems by identifying improvements and resolving defects.
• Participate in technical design discussions and solution architecture.
• Contribute to system design focusing on scalability, performance, security.
• Produce design documents, sequence diagrams and API specs when required.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLabCI, GitHub Actions).
• Implement automated tests (unit, integration, performance).
