Job summary

Techstreet Malaysia is seeking an experienced Java developer to join our enterprise web applications team in Kuala Lumpur. You will design, build, and modernize scalable Java applications using Spring Boot and reactive programming within a microservices architecture.

You will collaborate with analysts and cross-functional teams, implement RESTful/SOAP APIs, and ensure secure coding practices while leveraging AWS cloud services for deployment and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in CS/IT or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of production-level Java experience.
• Strong hands-on Java, Spring Boot, reactive programming and microservices experience.
• Experience with CI/CD, code quality tools, and version control systems (GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube).
• Knowledge of secure coding practices (OWASP) and AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with Redis, Memcached, Kafka, Vault is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work with caching, messaging, and security technologies such as Redis, Memcached, Kafka, and Vault
• Prepare technical documentation, identify implementation improvements, and share knowledge with team members
• Provide ongoing application support and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions within agreed timelines

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, postgraduate diploma, or professional qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of production-level Java application development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, reactive programming, microservices, Maven, JPA, RESTful/SOAP APIs, and MySQL
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, code quality tools, and version control systems such as GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10, application deployment, and AWS cloud services
• Familiarity with Java WebFlux, Quarkus, Redis, Memcached, Kafka, and Vault is advantageous
• Experience with Linux/Red Hat, Bash scripting, and application monitoring is an added advantage
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and technical documentation skills
• Oracle or Java certifications are advantageous
• Experience in the financial services industry or credit reporting systems is an added advantage
