Job summary

ams OSRAM Malaysia is seeking an Information Technology Engineer to own defect management and drive software release cycles in a global IT setting. You will troubleshoot complex issues, identify gaps, and communicate solutions to users while collaborating with IT teams and external vendors.

The role requires strong knowledge of defect management, Linux, SQL/Oracle, Python, and machine learning, with hands-on testing, documentation, and ongoing system enhancements. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/masters level degree in CS/IT engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years working experience in semiconductor industry.
• Solid knowledge of defect management systems and software testing processes.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Understand business needs and deploy software releases regularly.
• Troubleshoot issues and communicate gaps to users clearly.
• Develop and configure necessary system modifications, and perform testing.
• Document test results and maintain comprehensive records.
• Handle emergency requests with a proactive, ownership mindset.
• Propose system enhancements and improvements.
