Job summary

ams OSRAM Malaysia is seeking an Information Technology Engineer to own defect management and drive software release cycles in a global IT setting. You will troubleshoot complex issues, identify gaps, and communicate solutions to users while collaborating with IT teams and external vendors.

The role requires strong knowledge of defect management, Linux, SQL/Oracle, Python, and machine learning, with hands-on testing, documentation, and ongoing system enhancements. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/masters level degree in CS/IT engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years working experience in semiconductor industry.
• Solid knowledge of defect management systems and software testing processes.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence and cross-functional collaboration.

Job description

• Global IT - Responsible for Defect Manager: understand business needs, deploy software releases regularly, do trouble shooting, identify gaps and communicate with users.
• Understand business requirements, develop and configure necessary system modifications, perform testing and document results.
• Handle emergency requests or calls with highest dedication. Proactively identify and propose system enhancements. Provide consulting services on both new features and existing solutions.
• Close collaboration with IT team and external software vendor, bring in own ideas and document accordingly.
• Familiar with Jira and Confluence.
• Bachelor/Master or above in Computer Science, IT Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in semiconductor industry.
• Professional Knowledge in Defect Management System, Automatic Defect Classification, Linux, SQL/Oracle, Python, Windows, Requirements Engineering, Machine Learning.
• Need to be highly motivated to take initiative, assume ownership of applications and projects.
• Experience with working with colleagues abroad is good to have.
• Good written and spoken English language is mandatory.
