Job summary

SuriMaju Sdn Bhd, based in Penang, is seeking a Senior Inventory Executive to manage stock levels, optimize inventory, and ensure accurate records across warehouses while supporting ERP system enhancements. You will collaborate with warehouse, procurement, sales and logistics teams to ensure smooth daily operations, perform cycle counts, prevent shrinkage, and maintain audit-ready SOP-compliant inventory.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in supply chain management or related field.
• 1–3 years in inventory control or warehousing; retail experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (EB/AutoCount).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication across all levels of the organization.
• Physically fit and able to handle hardware/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Review and implement Inventory Management System.
• Participate in ERP system transition/implementation.
• Update ERP to keep stock records accurate.
• Monitor warehouse stock levels across locations.
• Conduct cycle counts and reconcile records.
• Prevent shrinkage; report shortages and discrepancies.
• Maintain audit-ready inventory records per SOP.
• Coordinate stock replenishment and analyze trends.

Job description

Our parent company SuriMaju Sdn Bhd is looking for a Senior Inventory Executive to join their retail outlet specializing in hardware and building materials. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing stock levels, ensuring record accuracy, and coordinate logistics and warehouse operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and implement proper Inventory Management System.
• Drive system transition by actively participating in the ERP system implementation.
• Update ERP systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date digital stock records.
• Monitor inventory levels across warehouses to prevent shortages or excess stock.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock takes, reconciling system records with actual inventory.
• Prevent stock shrinkage, report shortages, damaged goods and discrepancies.
• Maintain audit-ready inventory records and ensure adherence to Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Coordinate stock replenishment and analyze inventory trends based on business demand.
• Work with warehouse, procurement, sales and logistics teams, ensuring the smooth daily operation.
• Provide guidance to subordinate as and when required.

About you

• Possess a Diploma or Degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in inventory control, store and warehousing operation. Experience in retail industry is an added advantage.
• Good in Microsoft applications and familiarity with ERP systems such as EB or AutoCount system.
• Strong attention to details and good problem-solving skills.
• Good communication to connect with all level of people in the organisation.
• Responsible, self-independent, positive and proactive attitude.
• Physically fit and comfortable handling hardware/building materials.
