Job summary

Swisslog is seeking a Solution Designer to lead automated material handling system design aligned with customer requirements and optimized layouts. The role includes concept development, tender support, and presenting solutions to customers in workshops.

We expect 5+ years in industrial system design, strong CAD and MS Office skills, and fluent English. The successful candidate will join a globally connected team delivering data-driven intralogistics solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience, with 3 years in industrial system design.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office and 2D/3D CAD tools.
• Pleasant personality with attention to details and good communication/presentation skills.
• Good knowledge of automated logistics systems for integrated solutions.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Investigate and review customer’s requirements.
• Collect customer project data and analyze received data.
• Define design parameters from data analysis.
• Develop possible solutions based on customer requirements.
• Design and propose sub-systems based on equipment performance.
• Prepare presentations and present solutions to customers in workshops or meetings.
• Request supplier quotations for sub-systems and review quotations.
• Analyze supplier sub-systems and scope of supply.
• Prepare technical descriptions for tender submissions and functional descriptions.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for tender interviews and clarifications.
• Support the Sales Manager technically during sales and tender phases.
• Carry out detailed engineering during the detailed specification phase.
