Job summary

Zig Zig Builders (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Project Manager – Interior Design in Kuala Lumpur.

You will lead end-to-end delivery of interior design and interior fit-out projects from concept to handover, ensuring design intent, timelines, budgets, and quality meet client expectations. The role requires strong project management and interior design knowledge, coordinating with designers, architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers across Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in interior design project management, interior fit-out, design & build, commercial interiors, or related industries.
• Experience managing interior design projects such as retail outlets, F&B outlets, offices, showrooms, hospitality projects, residential developments, commercial spaces, or other interior fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of interior design processes, including concept development, design development, material selection, technical drawings, specifications, detailing, procurement, and site implementation.
• Knowledge of interior fit-out construction methodologies, project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
• Ability to coordinate with interior designers, architects, M&E consultants, structural consultants, specialist contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
• Understanding of local authority requirements, building regulations, fire safety, landlord requirements, and relevant safety standards.
• Leadership, communication, negotiation, presentation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software; SketchUp/Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of interior design and interior fit-out projects from initiation to handover.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, resource plans, procurement schedules, and milestones.
• Coordinate transition from design development to construction and communicate design intent clearly.
• Monitor progress against timelines, budgets, scope, and quality requirements; address delays with mitigation plans.
• Coordinate design revisions and ensure changes are documented and approved.
• Manage client and stakeholder meetings, progress updates, and design coordination across teams.
• Coordinate site implementation with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams; ensure quality standards.
• Monitor procurement of materials, manage vendor coordination, and control costs.
• Prepare project reports, track KPIs, and ensure proper project documentation and handover.
