Job summary

Great Eastern is seeking a seasoned actuarial professional to prepare and review reporting on IFRS17 profit, ROE, and CSM balance. You will work with Strategy, Actuarial, and Investment teams to optimize KPIs and support business planning and forecasting.

The role involves guiding juniors and ensuring regulatory risk controls are in place. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in actuarial roles, progressing in actuarial exams, and strong knowledge of actuarial models and valuation methods.

Qualifications

• Tertiary – Bachelor in Statistics/ Mathematics/ Actuarial Studies.
• Near qualified or good progress in actuarial exams in one of the actuarial associations recognized by BNM.
• More than 6 years of actuarial related experience.
• Knowledge on: (i) Actuarial models (Advance); (ii) Actuarial theories, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review IFRS17 profit arising, return on shareholder equity, CSM balance etc.
• Analyze profit arising and share findings with stakeholders.
• Perform and review business planning and forecast analysis of KPIs and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Review user acceptance test for Prophet modelling.
• Coordinate with Strategy, Actuarial, Investment and others on KPI optimization strategies.
• Assist Head of Department in other assignments and guide junior team members.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory compliance risks and mitigate them.
• Monitor industry trends on regulatory compliance and technologies to safeguard the company.
• Highlight potential concerns/risks and share best risk management practices.
