Job summary

Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering seeks an HSE professional to guide health and safety requirements to management across divisions, monitor performance, and implement HSE programs aligned with policy.

The role covers governance, risk assessment, training coordination, and liaison with government bodies, aiming to enhance HSE culture and ensure OSHA, PSM, PTS, and local regulations compliance. Degree in HSE or engineering required with 3+ years in HSE.

Qualifications

• Degree in HSE, Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years’ experience in HSE. Knowledge of IMS – HSE Management System, OSHA & PSM, PTS, MISC, IOSH, IOGP.
• Experience in industrial hygiene is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the annual MHB HSE Plan in line with company policies, mission, vision and HSE objective & target.
• Monitor and evaluate the HSE objective setting (Scorecard, KPI – MHB, Division/Department & Individual, QKPI).
• Monitor and evaluate resources and budgeting for Safety program according to approved OPEX.
• Collaborate with strategic partners from relevant Division/Department or Project including Petronas & MISC Group HSE for safety strategies & initiatives.
• Develop Safety capability building plan with COE to ensure required resources/SME are available.
• Communicate Safety capability building program to develop and enhance HSE awareness.
• Organize group forums and committees on HSE matters; interact with government bodies and international organizations.
• Monitor HSE Governance reporting framework between Divisions, Departments and MMHE management.
• Collect and analyze HSE reporting and presentation packs for periodic meetings (BOD, MC, MMHE HSEMC).
• Develop and standardize HSE documentation, reporting templates and requirements.
• Develop and maintain manuals, procedures, plans and guidelines on HSE per MISC guidelines and regulations.
• Liaise with divisions on HSE MS development and maintenance to ensure effective implementation.
• Evaluate HSE documents and deliverables according to HSE MS & ISO45001 requirements.
• Provide technical advice on case management and incident classification to management.
• Establish Incident Investigation team and review FIR to identify root causes and mitigation.
• Maintain Incident Register and follow up on Status of Implementation for all incidents.
• Analyze data for HSE campaigns to improve awareness and culture.
• Lead and nurture HSE personnel on compliance and best practices.
