Job summary

Lumileds International in Penang, Malaysia seeks an HR Manager to lead employee relations, disciplinary management, and workforce governance across P1 and P2. The role requires hands‑on leadership to ensure legal compliance, timely resolution of issues, and strong stakeholder engagement.

You will oversee direct labour staffing, foreign worker administration, hostel compliance, and relationship management with government agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field required.
• Minimum 7 years of HR experience with employee relations, workforce management or equivalent.
• Ability to interact effectively with employees, supervisors and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Employee Relations support across P1 and P2, including investigations, counselling, disciplinary cases, grievances and manager advisory.
• Provide governance and oversight for Direct Labour staffing, foreign worker management, hostel compliance and third-party employment agencies (TPEA).
• Support management on HR policy, workforce issues, employee conduct, absenteeism, tardiness and workplace conflict.
• Partner with Operations leaders and employees to identify concerns early, drive practical resolution and support a stable employee-relations environment.
• Represent or support the Company in dealings with relevant government and external stakeholders, including Labour Department and Industrial Relations authorities, as assigned.
• Ensure HR processes and records meet applicable legal, RBA, customer, audit and internal-control requirements.
• Coach and guide HR team members to strengthen capability, accountability and continuity.
