Think Academy International Education Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an HR Executive (Talent Acquisition & Employee Relations) with 3–5 years of hands-on HR experience. You will support full employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, relations, and HR operations in a fast-paced environment.
The role collaborates closely with the HRBP Manager and involves cross-cultural communication between teams in Malaysia and China-based management.
Location: Kuala Lumpur Teacher Centre
Experience: 3–5 years of hands‑on HR experience
Employment Type: Full-time
We are looking for a smart, energetic, resilient, and people-oriented HR Executive to join our team at the Kuala Lumpur Teacher Centre.
Working closely with the HRBP Manager, you will support the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, HR operations, engagement, and performance support.
This is a hands‑on role for an HR professional with 3–5 years of experience who is comfortable wearing multiple hats. You may have a stronger background in Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, HR Operations, or People & Culture. What matters most is that you have solid experience in at least one area and are willing to grow across the broader HR function.
We are looking for someone who is quick-thinking, practical, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for selected full-time non-teaching roles, interns, and part-time staff, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate assessment, offer management, and onboarding coordination.
Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, define candidate profiles, and manage recruitment timelines.
Build and maintain talent pipelines through JobStreet, LinkedIn, Indeed, referrals, campus channels, and other recruitment platforms.
Track recruitment progress and provide regular updates on hiring pipelines, candidate status, and recruitment challenges.
Continuously improve recruitment channels, processes, and candidate experience.
Serve as a key HR point of contact for local employees, providing timely, practical, and empathetic HR support.
Handle day-to-day employee relations matters, including attendance, leave, workplace concerns, grievances, disciplinary matters, and employee queries.
Support the HRBP Manager in managing employee relations cases in accordance with company policies and Malaysian employment requirements.
Assist with probation reviews, performance concerns, employee feedback, and other people-related matters.
Maintain proper documentation and follow up on employee cases through to resolution.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
Manage day-to-day HR operations, including attendance, leave, public holidays, employee movements, and HR system updates.
Support statutory and employment-related processes, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB (MTD), and other applicable requirements.
Ensure HR processes are carried out consistently and in accordance with Malaysian employment requirements.
Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth and professional employee experience.
Support and drive employee engagement initiatives, team activities, festive celebrations, and other culture-building programs.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and high-energy workplace environment.
Actively listen to employees and identify opportunities to improve the overall employee experience.
Support the HRBP Manager in training initiatives and employee development programs.
Coordinate probation reviews, performance appraisal cycles, and other performance-related processes.
Follow up with managers and employees to ensure HR processes are completed effectively and on time.
Act as a bridge between China-based management and the local Malaysia team.
Communicate company policies, expectations, and values in a clear and practical way.
Support cross-cultural communication and help resolve misunderstandings arising from different working styles and expectations.
Experience
3–5 years of hands‑on HR experience in Malaysia.
Strong experience in at least one of the following areas:
Local HR Knowledge
Good understanding of Malaysian employment practices and relevant legislation, including the Employment Act 1955.
Familiarity with statutory requirements such as EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and PCB (MTD).
Adaptability & Problem-Solving
Quick-thinking with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Able to assess situations, connect the dots, and develop practical solutions.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change.
Able to work independently, take ownership, and elevate matters when needed.
Communication
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically with employees and managers.
Fluent in English is required.
Open-minded, culturally sensitive, and comfortable working with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
You don't need to have every answer immediately. You know how to think through a problem, ask the right questions, connect the dots, and find a practical solution.
You genuinely enjoy working with people, listening to different perspectives, and building trust with employees and managers.
You are hands‑on, proactive, and comfortable getting into the details. When something needs to be done, you take ownership and make it happen.
You are curious, open to feedback, and eager to expand beyond your current HR specialty. You see this role as an opportunity to develop into a stronger HR Generalist / HRBP.
HR is not always easy. You are comfortable handling difficult conversations, changing priorities, and challenging situations while remaining professional and solution-oriented.
Be part of a leading global education technology company with an expanding footprint in Malaysia.
Gain hands‑on exposure across Recruitment, Employee Relations, HR Operations, Engagement, and Performance, giving you a well-rounded HR experience.
Join a fast-paced, multicultural teacher centre where your work has a direct and visible impact on employees and the organisation.
