Job summary

Altera in Penang is seeking a FPGA validation engineer to define and execute silicon validation strategies. You will develop lab environments, create synthetic content, and ensure performance and power targets are met.

The role requires hands-on FPGA design validation knowledge, strong collaboration with architecture, software and tools teams, and a Bachelor in E&E (Master preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in E&E engineering is required.
• Master's degree in E&E is preferred.
• Experience with FPGA validation and related hardware testing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Defines and develops FPGA designs for customer use models and silicon validation.
• Develops lab-based test environments and synthetic content for characterization.
• Applies hardware/software techniques to meet performance and power goals.
• Implements digital logic in FPGA prototypes and evaluates architecture trade-offs.
• Debugs silicon bring-up issues from prototype to production.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define validation strategy and plans.

• Defines and develops FPGA designs that mimics customer use model and enables FPGA silicon validation, IP, SW, tools, and integration.
• Defines and delivers continuous improvement of silicon validation environment and methodologies.
• Develops lab-based test environments and synthetic test content to characterize and test functionality, performance, and power and subsequently qualifies them for product release.
• Applies various hardware and software level tools and techniques to ensure functional coverage and that performance and power goals are met.
• Applies latest FPGA design flows, processes, and tools knowledge to improve quality and schedule.
• Implements digital logic functions in FPGA prototypes and validates the trade-off between architecture and design alternatives.
• Debugs and resolves silicon bring up issues, documents the solutions, troubleshoots, and debugs silicon from prototype to production.
• Collaborates with architecture, design, software, firmware, and tools teams to define validation strategy, develop test plans, and drive execution.

You are required to know electrical validation knowledge on varies protocol such as PCIe, Ethernet and etc. The knowledge on signal integrity such as eye-diagram, jitter, BER and etc are essential.

You are expected to manage the program. Debug on the electrical/performance issue during the validation cycle.

Qualifications:

Bachelor with Electrical & Electronic(E&E) Engineering. Master with E&E Engineering is prefer.
