Job summary

Altera in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an FPGA design and silicon validation engineer to mimic customer use models and drive validation across IP, software, and tools. The role develops lab-based test environments and validation strategies, collaborating with architecture, design, software, firmware, and tools teams to ensure high quality and timely product release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Master’s in E&E preferred.
• Electrical validation knowledge of protocols such as PCIe and Ethernet; understanding eye-diagram, jitter, BER is essential.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop FPGA designs that mimic customer use models and enable silicon validation, IP, software, tools, and integration.
• Define and deliver continuous improvement of silicon validation environment and methodologies.
• Develop lab-based test environments and synthetic content to characterize functionality, performance and power for product release.
• Apply hardware and software level tools to ensure functional coverage and meet performance and power goals.
• Apply latest FPGA design flows, processes and tools to improve quality and schedule.
• Debug silicon bring-up issues, document solutions, troubleshoot, and debug from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with architecture, design, software, firmware, and tools teams to define validation strategy, develop test plans, and drive execution.

You are required to know electrical validation knowledge on varies protocol such as PCIe, Ethernet and etc. The knowledge on signal integrity such as eye-diagram, jitter, BER and etc are essential.

You are expected to manage the program. Debug on the electrical/performance issue during the validation cycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor with Electrical & Electronic(E&E) Engineering. Master with E&E Engineering is prefer.
