Job summary

Altera Corporation is seeking a Senior FPGA Silicon Validation Engineer in Penang, Malaysia. You will define and advance FPGA validation strategies, build lab environments, and create synthetic tests to validate functionality, performance, and power before product release.

You will work with architecture, design, software, firmware, and tools teams to ensure high-quality silicon bring-up and validation, including PCIe and Ethernet protocols, signal integrity concepts, and debug of complex issues

• Defines and develops FPGA validation efforts across customer use models.
• Develops lab-based test environments and synthetic content to characterize functionality, performance and power.
• Collaborates with architecture, design, software, firmware and tools teams to define validation strategy.

Responsibilities

• Defines and develops FPGA designs that mimic customer use models for silicon validation.
• Implements digital logic in FPGA prototypes and evaluates architecture/design trade-offs.
• Debugs silicon bring-up issues from prototype to production and documents solutions.
• Manages validation program and drives test plan execution.
• Requires knowledge of PCIe, Ethernet and related signaling and eye-diagram/jitter/BER analysis.

## Senior FPGA Silicon Validation EngineerApply: Penang 15, Penang, Malaysia: Full time: Posted Today: R03179# **Job Details:**### ## **Job Description:*** Defines and develops FPGA designs that mimics customer use model and enables FPGA silicon validation, IP, SW, tools, and integration.* Defines and delivers continuous improvement of silicon validation environment and methodologies.* Develops lab-based test environments and synthetic test content to characterize and test functionality, performance, and power and subsequently qualifies them for product release.* Applies various hardware and software level tools and techniques to ensure functional coverage and that performance and power goals are met.* Applies latest FPGA design flows, processes, and tools knowledge to improve quality and schedule.* Implements digital logic functions in FPGA prototypes and validates the trade-off between architecture and design alternatives.* Debugs and resolves silicon bring up issues, documents the solutions, troubleshoots, and debugs silicon from prototype to production.* Collaborates with architecture, design, software, firmware, and tools teams to define validation strategy, develop test plans, and drive execution. You are required to know electrical validation knowledge on varies protocol such as PCIe, Ethernet and etc. The knowledge on signal integrity such as eye-diagram, jitter, BER and etc are essential. You are expected to manage the program. Debug on the electrical/performance issue during the validation cycle.### ## **Qualifications:**Bachelor with Electrical & Electronic(E&E) Engineering.
