Job summary

AMD is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Global Operations Finance (GOQ Finance) team in Penang, Malaysia. You will partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and operations to drive forecasting, budgeting, and cost analyses while delivering actionable insights for leadership.

The role emphasizes financial modeling, variance analysis, and process improvements, with exposure to ERP systems (SAP) and analytics tools like Power BI and Snowflake. A CPA/ACCA/CMA or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Progressive finance experience, preferably in manufacturing, operations finance, supply chain finance, or FP&A.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing operations, and financial planning processes.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and financial planning or reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
• Experience with Power BI, Snowflake, data analytics, or automation tools is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights and recommendations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with experience interacting with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results in a fast-paced global environment.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for process optimization, automation, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enhance financial models supporting quarterly forecasts, AOP, and long-range planning for COGS, inventory, and CapEx.
• Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and operations stakeholders for financial guidance and strategic initiatives.
• Own intra-quarter forecast and outlook processes, identifying risks, opportunities, and financial impacts.
• Perform variance analysis of actuals vs forecast, budget, and prior periods; communicate drivers to leadership.
• Analyze inventory and manufacturing costs to improve visibility and inform decisions.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities including accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare executive-level presentations, financial summaries, and management reports.
• Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes, reporting enhancements, and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial compliance and internal controls.
• Lead or participate in financial transformation, systems enhancements, and operational efficiency projects.
• Support data governance and improve reporting accuracy via ERP, reporting tools, and data platforms.
