Job summary

Dyson in Malaysia's Johor Bahru is seeking a Design Manager to lead the technical delivery of Floorcare development programmes within Dyson’s RDD organisation. You will steer cross-functional teams to meet quality, performance and manufacturability standards.

You will partner with global engineering teams and local partners to translate high-level product requirements into actionable development plans, drive risk reviews, and support capability building within the Johor team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related field
• Significant experience in product design and development
• Strong understanding of end-to-end product development and manufacturing processes
• Experience leading cross-functional teams on complex technical projects
• Ability to influence across international teams and external partners

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of Floorcare development programmes from concept to production readiness
• Act as primary technical contact coordinating across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Procurement and Programme Management
• Align Malaysia-based development with Dyson’s global standards and governance
• Define development plans, resources and priorities with project managers and technical leads
• Lead technical reviews, risk assessments and problem-solving activities
• Collaborate with local and international partners for product development and validation
• Manage technical risks, issues and dependencies and escalate when needed
• Translate high-level requirements into actionable development plans and cross-functional workstreams
• Ensure solutions meet performance, safety, quality and manufacturability standards
• Support capability building within the Johor team through coaching and leadership
• Represent Engineering in programme reviews and stakeholder discussions
• Promote collaboration between the Johor team and Dyson’s global engineering teams
