The General Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the overall accounting operations of ASE Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting strategic decision-making with timely financial information. The ideal candidate will lead the accounting team, optimize financial processes, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to uphold financial discipline.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll, including review financial variances, Corporate Reporting Package, FP&A forecast and budgets scope, and financial analysis to facilitate business planning
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements preparation in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS)
- Support ad-hoc assignments or projects and duties assigned from time to time (e.g. IFRS, SAP ECC 6.0, expansion, implementation of new processes or system automation project)
- Coordinate and support external audits and tax audits, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance operational efficiency
- Support Company Tax Reporting Package, PVP Tax filing, Indirect Tax, Withholding Tax, Labor, Custom or other Regulatory Compliance, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control assessment and audit, and review TP Computation, Transactions, Reconciliation and Settlement
- Execute financial statements review and analysis, investigate and resolve issues promptly working with all parties to address Group query
- Manage Treasury related activities, including FX hedging and Cashflow Forecast
- Review and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and compliance with tax regulations
- Provide management with financial insights and reporting to support strategic decision-making
Qualification & Experience
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or Professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, MICPA) or equivalent
- 6+ years accounting & audit working experience, with at least 3 years in manufacturing company
- Proficient in ERP accounting system, experience in SAP is an added advantage
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving skills and team work
- Track record in continuous improvement, committed and prioritize to deliver result on time
- Good command of both English and Mandarin
