Job summary

Sabah Mineral Management Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced finance professional to manage a full set of accounts, month-end close, and financial reporting in Sabah.

The role covers budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and liaising with external auditors and authorities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Strong analytical and independent work style are essential for delivering accurate management information and improving internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ICAEW, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in accounting and finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and statutory compliance.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy and integrity.
• Able to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, schedules and reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cash flow monitoring.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and authorities when required.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Monitor financial transactions and maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support CCO in financial reporting, analysis, and other finance-related matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
• Perform other duties and ad-hoc assignments as required.
