Job summary

ATS Global Malaysia seeks a capable finance leader to oversee all divisional financial transactions, provide results analysis, and implement profitable recommendations.

Reporting to the Division Manager and regional Financial Controller, you will lead a small administrator team during peak periods and potentially evolve into a broader financial controller role across Asia-Pacific.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' proven financial experience in a project-oriented environment.
• Commercial and business acumen with ability to support decision making.
• Experience in e-Invoicing and SST reporting submissions.
• Ability to work under high pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience in project coordination or administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Regional financial: prepare monthly results per deadlines; assist budgeting and forecasts with regional/global teams.
• Audit support: liaise with external auditors and respond to queries.
• Cash management and fixed asset upkeep; revenue recognition and cost control.
• Support senior management with growth strategies and performance reports.
• Maintain records, controls, and compliance with statutory requirements.

Job description

The Position

Reporting to the Division Manager and with reporting responsibilities to the regional Financial Controller. You will hold control and responsibility for all financial transactions of the division and are expected to analyse results and implement recommendations based on these findings with the most profitable outcomes.

The role will be a key part of the Malaysian leadership team, Initially, the role will only have a small team of administrators to work through demanding periods including month end and year-end audits. The successful candidate will need to be self-sufficient but also know when to ask for help from the wider regional finance team.

ATS Malaysia is growing rapidly and it is considered likely that, with continued divisional growth, this role may develop into a full financial controller role with increased influence across the Asia-Pacific region.

Key Responsibility

Regional Financial:

• Working with regional finance team to prepare monthly financial results in line with corporate reporting deadlines
• Assistance in preparation of the annual budget, forecasts and planning in close cooperation with the division management as well as regional and global finance teams
• Working with wider regional finance team on annual division audit including liaising with external auditing and responding to queries from global head office on global audit.
• Reporting of project completion and associated work-in-progress and revenue recognition entries.
• Maintenance of fixed asset register
• Divisional cash management on an ongoing basis.
• Work with the senior management team to assist in growing the business, formulating strategies and plans in support of our business objectives.
• Preparation and submission of weekly and monthly updates/reports.
• Review and reconciliation of accounts and investigation of variances where applicable.
• Capital expenditure – evaluation and preparation of submissions.
• Insurance/ risk management
• Assist with setting annual cost rates and prices for customers.
• Assist with commercial bids with regional bid teams.
• Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.

Division Financial Administrative:

• Schedule meetings and appointments (if required)
• Help prepare regular reports.
• Support processes and manage vendors.
• Work with auditors and banks.
• Legal division authorities, submission of SST report and submission to customs
• Keep track and handle of contracts and financial documents.
• Monitoring division office operations and coordinate day-to-day operations.
• Inter dept connection for other operations (e.g., HR – coordination for payroll, staff contracts/renewals if required).

Record Keeping:

• Maintain up-to-date financial records and documentation in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
• Organize and archive historical financial data for audits and reference.

Compliance and Support:

• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Support the project team with other administrative tasks as required.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Min 5 years of proven experience in relevant financial experience in a company with exposure to projects, construction or professional services.
• A level of commercial and business experience.
• Experienced in e-Invoicing and SST reports submissions.
• Ability to handle periods of high pressure and assist with critical decision making.
• Added advantage with experience in project coordination or administration.
• Added Advantage for Mandarin speaker.
• Added Advantage for relevant certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
• Proven experience in finance administration, accounting, or a similar role (3 years preferred).
