Job summary

Teradyne in Penang seeks a senior field engineer to lead on-site installation, bring-up, and commissioning of high-speed digital and optical test systems while coordinating with global teams to meet specifications, schedules, and customer requirements.

In this role, you will apply electrical, product engineering, and field-service expertise, perform complex troubleshooting, ensure acceptance criteria, and train customers with occasional international travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Photonics, or an equivalent discipline.
• 10–15 years of field installation, product, sustaining, systems, applications, hardware engineering, or technical support experience.
• Proven ability to install, integrate, commission, troubleshoot, and obtain customer acceptance for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site installation, integration, bring-up, commissioning, qualification, and customer acceptance of high-speed digital and optical test systems.
• Confirm site readiness, utilities, networking, cabling, tooling, software and firmware revisions, calibration, spares and documentation.
• Configure and verify end-to-end system operation against product specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, product, software, firmware, and optical issues to the appropriate subsystem level.
• Travel extensively to domestic and international locations for customer sites.
