Job summary

AllwaysFirst is seeking a UPS Field Service Engineer to support data center infrastructure projects in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The role covers installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of UPS systems and related power infrastructure to ensure reliable operation at customer sites.

You will conduct on-site surveys, perform installation and acceptance testing, troubleshoot UPS equipment, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of UPS field service or data center infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on UPS installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of UPS systems, battery systems, and power distribution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; MS Project is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a UPS Field Service Engineer to support data center infrastructure projects in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The role focuses on the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of UPS systems and related power infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient operation at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys, provide technical consultation, and support the preparation of technical solutions for data center infrastructure projects.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of UPS equipment and battery systems in accordance with technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repair of UPS systems and related electrical equipment.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
• Prepare and update technical drawings using AutoCAD, project documentation, work scopes, schedules, budgets, and service reports.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting guidance, and training to customers while ensuring customer satisfaction and service quality.
• Travel to customer sites across Malaysia and Southeast Asia as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in UPS field service, electrical equipment service, data center infrastructure, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience in UPS installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of UPS systems, battery systems, electrical power distribution, and data center infrastructure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project is an advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English, with strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Southeast Asia.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, a proactive working attitude, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
