Job summary

NI Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a Senior Facilities Technician (Fire Life Safety) to operate, maintain, and monitor fire protection and life safety systems, ensuring continuous 24/7 operation.

You will support regulatory compliance, preventive maintenance, and emergency response coordination, while supervising external vendors and coordinating with EHS and facility teams. A technical certificate or diploma and AO Chargeman certification are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in commercial or facility FLSS systems.
• AO Chargeman Certificate.
• Technical certificate or diploma in a relevant field.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance logs and CMMS.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Senior Facilities Technician (Fire Life Safety) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring fire protection and life safety systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation. This role supports regulatory compliance, preventive maintenance activities, emergency response coordination, and contractor management to maintain a safe and compliant facility environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and monitor fire protection and life safety systems

About you

• Technical certificate or diploma from a vocational school, community college, or training institute

• Ability to prioritize and respond to breakdowns and emergency callsi>
• Basic computer skills for maintenance logs and CMMS systems
• Experience supporting fire protection and life safety systems in a manufacturing, commercial, or large facility environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with statutory inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance requirements (preferred)
• Experience coordinating with external vendors and service contractors (preferred)
