Job summary

SK intellix Malaysia is seeking a Senior Refurbishment Executive to oversee the end-to-end refurbishment of returned, used, or damaged products. You will diagnose, repair, inspect QC, and manage inventory to ensure quality before sale or redeployment.

You will drive process improvements, maintain accurate records, and lead a small team to meet turnaround targets while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of refurbishment/repair operations experience.
• Minimum 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Experience with inventory and spare parts management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair and refurbishment activities.
• Ensure refurbishment completes within targeted turnaround times.
• Conduct incoming, in-process and final QC inspections and CAPA.
• Manage refurbishment and spare parts inventory with ERP/WMS systems.
• Develop SOPs, provide training, and report KPIs on performance.
• Lead and mentor refurbishment technicians and junior staff.

Job Summary

The Senior Refurbishment Executive is responsible for overseeing the refurbishment process of returned, used, damaged, or customer-owned products. The role involves diagnosing and repairing products, conducting quality control inspections, managing refurbishment inventory, maintaining spare parts availability, and ensuring products meet company quality standards before being released for sale or redeployment. The position also drives process improvements, ensures operational efficiency, and maintains accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Repair & Refurbishment Operations

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and refurbishment of products according to established procedures.
• Analyze recurring product defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure refurbishment activities are completed within targeted turnaround times.
• Monitor repair quality and workmanship to minimize rework and warranty claims.
• Maintain proper repair documentation and service records.
• Escalate technical issues beyond repair capability to relevant stakeholders.

Quality Control (QC)

• Conduct incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections on refurbished products.
• Verify repaired units meet functional, cosmetic, and safety standards.
• Develop and implement QC checklists and testing procedures.
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain quality records and provide regular reporting on refurbishment performance.

Stock & Inventory Management

• Manage inventory of refurbished products, work-in-progress units, and repair materials.
• Perform regular stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
• Ensure inventory accuracy within the ERP/WMS system.
• Monitor inventory movement and maintain proper stock storage practices.
• Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams to optimize stock levels.
• Identify and mitigate inventory discrepancies and losses.

Spare Parts Management

• Monitor spare parts consumption and usage trends.
• Maintain optimum spare parts inventory levels to support refurbishment activities.
• Coordinate spare parts procurement and replenishment with purchasing teams.
• Ensure proper tracking and accountability of spare parts issued for repairs.
• Establish minimum and maximum stock levels for critical components.
• Evaluate obsolete, slow-moving, and excess spare parts for appropriate action.

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Identify opportunities to improve refurbishment productivity and quality.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Generate and present KPI reports related to repair turnaround time, first-pass yield, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce repair costs and improve efficiency.
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with company standards and policies.

Team Support & Leadership

• Guide and mentor refurbishment technicians and junior staff.
• Provide technical training and support when required.
• Assist management in workforce planning and operational scheduling.
• Promote a safe and organized work environment.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.

Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in refurbishment, repair operations, technical service, electronics repair, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Minimum 2 years in a senior or supervisory position preferred.
• Experience with inventory and spare parts management systems.

Technical Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Knowledge of quality control methodologies and inspection processes.
• Experience using ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
• Good understanding of inventory management principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
