Job summary

Alliance Bank seeks a Senior Executive for MFRS9 Systems & Support to drive ECL and related calculations, assist in automation, and collaborate with Financial Reporting. You will manage data, analytics, and governance while supporting regulatory submissions and internal reporting.

The role requires a professional qualification or accounting/finance degree with at least 2 years in FP&A, MIS, or external audit, and strong MS SQL, Excel, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification or degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, FP&A, MIS or external audit.
• Working knowledge of MFRS/IFRS accounting standards is advantageous.
• Familiarity with banking operations and financial products is an added advantage.
• Strong MS SQL and data handling skills.
• Advanced Office skills with Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support MFRS 9 processes including ECL, Modification Gain/Loss, EIR, IIS for reporting.
• Perform financial analysis by comparing actuals to forecast and budget.
• Drive automation and enhancements for MFRS 9 ECL calculator.
• Support development of Modification Gain/Loss calculator and reporting.
• Assist in project management for Group Financial Control initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Financial Reporting team for accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare financial analysis and presentations for Management, GAC, and BOD.
• Support regulatory queries and data submissions (e.g., Bank Negara Malaysia).
• Participate in data clean-up and governance initiatives.
• Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required by supervisor.

Job Responsiblities :

• Support MFRS 9 processes including Expected Credit Loss (ECL), Modification Gain/Loss, Effective Interest Rate (EIR), and Interest Income Suspension (IIS), covering financial close, data compilation, analysis, and interpretation for internal and external reporting.
• Perform financial analysis by comparing actual performance against forecast and budget across various dimensions (e.g., entity, line of business, products).
• Drive and support automation and enhancements for the MFRS 9 ECL calculator to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Support the development, automation, and implementation of the Modification Gain/Loss calculator, including taking ownership of system changes and reporting platform enhancements.
• Assist in project management for Group Financial Control initiatives, including system enhancements and change requests (CRs).
• Collaborate closely with the Financial Reporting team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Prepare financial analysis and presentation materials for Management, Group Audit Committee (GAC), and Board of Directors (BOD) in a timely manner.
• Support regulatory queries and submissions (e.g., Bank Negara Malaysia) related to the Bank’s financial data.
• Participate proactively in financial data clean-up and data governance initiatives.
• Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required by the immediate supervisor and Management.

Job Requirements :

• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW) or a degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), MIS, or external audit, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
• Working knowledge of MFRS/IFRS accounting standards is an advantage.
• Familiarity with banking operations and financial products is an added advantage.
• Strong proficiency in MS SQL and data handling.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
• Self-driven with strong time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
