Job Purpose

Member of the technical team who performs technical roles in support of development, implementation, maintenance and operation of application systems/IT solutions (local and regional) under Risk Management for designated applications. Core duties include providing user support, undertaking IT project tasks, and ensuring that application systems meet strategic business objectives and compliance requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop technical specifications and programmes that meet user and functional requirements.
• Ensure all programmes are error‑free and efficient through thorough testing, peer review, and performance tuning.
• Design, formulate, and execute comprehensive test plans, including System Integration Tests and performance tests.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve application problems within agreed Service Level Agreements, including root‑cause analysis and recovery action proposals.
• Maintain system high availability and performance by reviewing statistics, implementing tuning, and liaising with vendors and infrastructure teams.
• Engage with users to provide support, gather requirements, and build lasting relationships; participate in user activities to better understand their work processes.
• Ensure adherence to IT standards, policies, Quality Management and SDLC procedures, and audit requirements; document all deliverables in compliance with these standards.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

Education Level: At least tertiary education in Information Technology or related field.

Experience:

• Less than 3 years: Basic application support, troubleshooting, batch execution and monitoring.
• 3‑5 years: Support of small to medium application implementation projects, integration of Business and IT solutions, and SQL/PLSQL development.
• 6‑10 years: In‑depth experience with Oracle Database 12c/19c, AWR report analysis, performance tuning, and batch execution support in data warehouse environments.
• More than 10 years: Advanced knowledge of Oracle systems, extensive experience in application development, and leadership in technical teams.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in SQL or PL/SQL, Oracle Database administration, and performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with application architecture, analysis, design, and development.
• Understanding of project management processes and methodologies.
• Effective communication, multitasking, and proactive attitude.

Certifications
