Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Senior Executive, Infection Control to lead hospital-wide infection control programmes, support antimicrobial stewardship, and develop policies in line with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

You will conduct audits, monitor HAIs and isolation practices, investigate incidents, prepare reports for HIACC and committees, and contribute to quality, risk management, and pandemic preparedness while training staff.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board.
• Valid Annual Practising Certificate.
• Post Basic qualification in Infection Control.
• 3+ years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
• 2+ years' experience in an Infection Control dept.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong organisational, communication and analytical skills.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and work with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and implementation of hospital-wide infection control programmes, including precautions, surveillance, reporting and investigations.
• Participate in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
• Develop, review and implement infection control policies and procedures in line with statutory and accreditation requirements.
• Conduct hospital-wide infection control audits and recommend improvements.
• Monitor healthcare-associated infections, communicable diseases and isolation practices.
• Investigate infection control incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor and analyse infection control quality indicators, trends and patterns.
• Liaise with government bodies and external agencies on infection control matters.
• Support the Hospital Infection & Antibiotic Control Committee (HIACC), including preparation of data, reports and follow-up actions.
• Contribute to quality and risk management initiatives and accreditation programmes, including MSQH, JCI and ACHS.
• Support pandemic and epidemic preparedness, including communicating CDC and Ministry of Health guidance and facilitating drills.
• Provide infection control orientation, education and ongoing communication to relevant staff.

What We're Looking For
