Job summary

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is seeking a Senior Executive, Financial Planning in Malaysia. This role assists the Malaysia Director of Finance in managing all finance and accounting operations, budgeting, forecasts and monthly statements.

You will report to the Director of Finance in Malaysia, develop reports, dashboards, and analyze variances to drive improvements. Strong Excel, Access and SQL skills are required, with 3–4+ years in financial reporting in a multinational setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• 3–4+ years of financial/statutory reporting, tax, and internal controls in a multinational company.
• Food service or retail knowledge a plus.
• Strong Excel, Access and SQL skills preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Forecast, report, and track financial performance and metrics.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance reports.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® is seeking a Senior Executive, Financial Planning in Malaysia. This role will assist the Malaysia Director of Finance in managing all finance and accounting operations, coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances and prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.

The position will sit in the Malaysia office, reporting directly to the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
• Assist to report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.
• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
• Take part to identify the financial and operational impact of any changes in policies or procedures e.g. OT rate, pricing, inventory par stock.
• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps.
• Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
• Support project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget.
• Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
• Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.
• Aid in the capital budgeting and expenditure planning processes.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 3 - 4+ years of financial/statutory reporting, tax, and internal controls experience in a multi-national company
• Food service and/or retail industry knowledge and experience a plus
• Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions; Microsoft Access and/or SQL experience strongly preferred
• Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills required
