Job summary

Axonect in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to operate, maintain and optimize our cloud and on‑prem environments, with a strong focus on AWS, IaC, and automation. You will monitor workloads with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog; contribute to disaster recovery, security, and cost optimization; collaborate with teams and vendors; and document procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level IT/CS degree or equivalent required.
• 4+ years in infrastructure operations and cloud engineering.
• Hands-on AWS provisioning, monitoring, and production ops.
• Knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, networking, and DNS/DHCP.
• Experience with backup, DR, HA, and automation tooling.
• Familiar with Terraform, CloudFormation, monitoring tools, Jira/Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of cloud security, compliance, and audits.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud and infrastructure platforms, primarily AWS, including hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
• Monitor cloud workloads and infrastructure performance using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog
• Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability configurations, including restore testing and retention compliance
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
• Provide 24x7 production support, incident response, and troubleshooting in line with operational SLAs
• Implement cloud security, governance, compliance, and infrastructure standards
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, and incident reports
• Support cloud cost optimization, auto-scaling, load balancing, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with internal teams and technology partners on infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Person Specifications

• Bachelor's degree, postgraduate diploma, professional qualification, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure operations and cloud engineering, covering data centre and cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, provisioning, monitoring, and production operations
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, networking, directory services, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, clustering, SFTP, and related enterprise infrastructure
• Experience with cloud backup, recovery, disaster recovery, high availability, and infrastructure automation
• Familiarity with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, monitoring tools, and project management platforms such as Jira or Azure DevOps
• Understanding of cloud security, audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and collaboration skills
• AWS, cloud architecture, infrastructure, networking, virtualization, or backup and disaster recovery certifications are advantageous
• Experience in the financial services industry is an added advantage
