Job summary

Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is seeking energetic, vibrant, and multi-skilled individuals to join the Events Management team. You will lead and supervise the events team, oversee all group events, coordinate from confirmation to completion, and liaise with clients to finalize details.

This role requires at least two years in a similar position, fluency in English, good local language, sales knowledge, leadership ability, and willingness to work long hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Events Management team, including Events Managers and Events Executives.
  • Oversee and manage all group events, meetings, incentives, and catering functions.
  • Coordinate events from confirmation through completion and departure.
  • Liaise with clients to finalize event details and provide professional advice on event planning and setups.
  • Ensure effective communication with clients and internal departments throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Prepare and distribute event documentation, including Group Resumes and BEOs, and chair pre-convention meetings.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales, Banquets, and other operational departments to deliver quality service.
  • Monitor event execution, client satisfaction, and operational quality standards.
  • Review billing, account postings, and invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Direct and guide Events Managers and Executives to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Support event allocation, team coordination, and service quality management.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure full utilization of the Delphi system.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and event contractors.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and budget achievement through business development activities.
  • Identify market trends, maintain client relationships, and pursue upselling opportunities for guestrooms and catering services.
  • Conduct site inspections and assist in preparing proposals for meetings, incentives, and group events.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up activities, including obtaining client feedback, managing invoices, and maintaining event records.
  • Support the training, coaching, motivation, and development of the Events Management team.
  • Maintain account files, attend operational meetings, and perform other duties assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities
