About the Role

AEC Malaysia is looking for a Senior ESG Consultant to join our growing ESG and Sustainability team.

This is a client-facing and commercially focused role for an ESG professional who is passionate about sustainability, confident in engaging with senior management, and comfortable delivering seminars, presentations and public talks.

The successful candidate will be responsible not only for delivering high-quality ESG consulting services, but also for supporting business development, client acquisition, seminars and industry engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support ESG consulting projects for corporate clients across various industries.

Conduct ESG gap assessments, materiality assessments and ESG readiness assessments.

Support clients in developing ESG strategies, policies, frameworks and sustainability reports.

Advise clients on relevant ESG requirements, including Bursa Malaysia, NSRF, ISSB/IFRS Sustainability Standards, GHG Protocol, TCFD and other applicable frameworks.

Support carbon accounting, GHG emissions assessment and climate-related initiatives.

Prepare high-quality ESG reports, proposals, presentations and client deliverables.

Participate in client meetings, presentations and business pitches.

Prepare proposals, quotations and technical/commercial presentations.

Develop new opportunities through networking, industry events, seminars and professional associations.

Plan, develop and deliver ESG seminars, workshops and public talks.

Represent AEC Malaysia as a speaker at conferences, industry events, corporate briefings and client seminars.

Support AEC's ESG training programmes, including ESGCP and other sustainability-related programmes.

Monitor emerging ESG regulations, market trends and sustainability developments.

Represent AEC Malaysia professionally at industry events and networking activities.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, environmental consultancy, corporate sustainability or a related field.

Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, ESG, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related discipline.

Good understanding of ESG reporting and sustainability frameworks.

Knowledge of Bursa Malaysia sustainability requirements, NSRF, ISSB/IFRS S1 & S2, GHG Protocol and climate-related disclosures will be an advantage.

Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills.

Confident public speaker with the ability to conduct seminars and presentations independently.

Strong interpersonal and client relationship management skills.

Commercially minded with a genuine interest in business development and client acquisition.

Able to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Willing to travel for client meetings, seminars and industry events when required.

Advantageous Qualifications

Professional qualifications or certifications such as ESGCP, GRI, GHG Protocol, CDP, SBTi, sustainability reporting, carbon accounting or other recognised ESG credentials will be an advantage.
