Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Senior Management professional to strengthen environmental governance across operations and projects in Malaysia. You will work with senior leadership, regulators and project teams to manage environmental risks and drive long-term sustainability objectives.

The role emphasizes leading environmental strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding robust ESG practices across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental field required.
• Postgraduate qualification in environmental management / sustainability is an advantage.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant leadership experience in environmental management or sustainability.
• Experience in energy, power, waste management or regulated industries preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian environmental legislation and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of sustainability strategies across operations and projects.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, licences, approvals and internal requirements.
• Provide environmental guidance for operating assets and major development projects.
• Oversee environmental impact assessments, management plans, monitoring and regulatory submissions.
• Manage air, water, waste, hazardous materials, biodiversity, and related environmental matters.
• Establish and monitor performance indicators, targets and improvement plans.
• Lead audits, site inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Drive carbon management, resource efficiency and circular economy initiatives.
• Prepare environmental performance reports and risk updates for governance committees.
