Job summary

ACCA Careers seeks a motivated ESG Senior Executive to support development and implementation of ESG initiatives in Malaysia. You will work with internal stakeholders to drive ESG practices, monitor sustainability performance, support ESG reporting, and align with regulatory and industry requirements.

The role involves delivering ESG advisory engagements, conducting maturity assessments, and assisting clients with governance, reporting and frameworks like Bursa Malaysia, IFRS S1 & S2 and GRI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Economics or related discipline.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, consulting, audit or assurance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong report writing and presentation abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Candidates must be resident in Malaysia, or have the right to work in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sustainability and ESG advisory engagements across diverse client portfolio.
• Conduct ESG maturity assessments, gap analyses and benchmarking exercises.
• Assist clients in implementing sustainability frameworks, governance structures and ESG strategies.
• Prepare sustainability reports in accordance with Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Requirements, IFRS S1 & S2, GRI Standards and other applicable frameworks.
• Perform double materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Support greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory preparation and carbon footprint assessments.
• Conduct climate risk and opportunity assessments aligned with TCFD and IFRS S2.
• Develop ESG policies, procedures, KPIs and reporting dashboards.
• Support sustainability assurance and verification engagements.
• Perform research on emerging ESG regulations, reporting standards and market developments.
• Prepare proposals, presentations and reports for clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Assist in business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
