SHB Malaysia Automotive Appliance Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to lead regulatory compliance and foster a robust safety culture at the Johor plant.

You will oversee EHS systems for a high-volume manufacturing environment and coordinate with global OEM standards. Responsibilities include ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation, risk assessment, incident investigations, and readiness for OEM/customer audits, with opportunities for international exposure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in OSH, Environmental Engineering, Science, or equivalent.
• Registered Safety & Health Officer (Green Book) with DOSH/JKKP; CePBSo is a strong advantage.
• 5–8 years of hands-on EHS experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance & Strategy: Ensure 100% compliance with OSHA 1994 (Amendment 2022), Environmental Quality Act 1974, Factory & Machinery Act and local regulations.
• EHS Management Systems: Implement, maintain, and improve ISO 14001 (EMS) and ISO 45001 (OHSMS) across lines.
• Risk Assessment & Hazard Control: Oversee HIRARC and Aspect-Impact analyses for all operations.
• Incident Investigation & Reporting: Lead root-cause investigations and CAPA; file statutory reports to DOSH/JAS.
• OEM & Customer Audit Readiness: Lead EHS during audits and manage closure of compliance gaps.

As a Senior EHS Officer, you will oversee EHS management systems, maintain local regulatory compliance and automotive OEM EHS standards while building robust safety culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

Regulatory Compliance & Strategy: Ensure 100% compliance with OSHA 1994 (Amendment 2022), Environmental Quality Act 1974, Factories and Machinery Act, and all relevant local municipal regulations.

EHS Management Systems: Implement, maintain, and continuously improve ISO 14001 (EMS) and ISO 45001 (OHSMS) standards across current and expanding automotive assembly lines.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Control: Oversee HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) and Aspect-Impact analyses for all manufacturing, tooling, and utility operations.

Incident Investigation & Reporting: Lead root-cause investigations for workplace accidents, near-misses, or hazardous conditions; submit mandatory statutory reports to DOSH/JAS and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

OEM & Customer Audit Readiness: Serve as the primary EHS point of contact during OEM customer quality and facility audits (e.g., Proton, Chery, Nissan, Ford) and manage compliance gap closures.

Requirements Must-have

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Science, or equivalent.

Certification: Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH / JKKP (valid Green Book registration is mandatory). Certified Environmental Person in Scheduled Waste Management (CePBSo) is a strong advantage.

Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of hands‑on EHS experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
