Job summary

Dyson is seeking a Product Performance engineer to quantify and optimize hair appliance performance. You will work within the Technology Development department to analyse data, design tests, and develop predictive models that guide design decisions.

The role requires a Mechanical/Mechatronics background with strong statistics and experience using Minitab, MATLAB or Excel. Collaboration with a project team is essential to deliver innovative hair styling and drying performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years' experience in product design and development.
Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, measurement analysis and statistical analysis.
Competency in Minitab, MATLAB or Excel or other data acquisition/processing tools.
Some experience with CAD/CAE tools is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

Identify factors contributing to the desired performance metric.
Utilize modelling tools to optimize/predict performance.
Analyze and make recommendations from experimental tests with rigorous analysis.
Design tests and test plans to identify and optimize performance while reflecting customer experience.
Write scripts/Excel/Minitab analyses to create predictive models and provide clear recommendations.
Propose design mitigations to achieve performance targets.
Collaborate with project team to deliver optimized hair styling and drying performance.
