Job summary

Hartalega NGC Sdn Bhd is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support plant asset reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and operational performance. You will analyze equipment performance, drive maintenance optimization initiatives, and implement reliability improvement programs.

The role provides technical expertise in troubleshooting, preventive and predictive maintenance, asset performance monitoring, and maintenance system utilization to improve equipment availability and reduce failures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering; related disciplines accepted.
• Minimum 3 years of plant maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 (IoT/Automation) and GMP.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical plant systems (motors, pumps, piping, utilities).
• Experience in maintenance planning and execution.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze equipment reliability, availability, and maintenance performance; track KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance).
• Lead troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and recurring issues.
• Develop and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs.
• Identify and implement reliability improvements to reduce downtime and enhance asset performance.
• Utilize CMMS and maintenance systems to manage data, history, and performance reporting.
• Provide technical support to Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams on reliability matters.
• Support equipment commissioning, upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, GMP, ISO 9001, and company requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve reliability issues.
• Mentor Engineers and Technicians on reliability practices.

• The role provides technical expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance, asset performance monitoring, and maintenance system utilization to improve equipment availability, reduce failures, and enhance operational efficiency.
• The position also supports compliance with company standards, ISO 9001, GMP, safety requirements, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve reliability and business objectives.

• Minimum 3 years of plant maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 (IoT/Automation), manufacturing technologies, and GMP
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical plant systems (motors, pumps, piping, utilities)
• Experience in maintenance planning and execution
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics
• Familiarity with plant safety standards and operational controls
• Skilled in troubleshooting and technical problem-solving
