Job summary

Hartalega NGC Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanical/Project Engineer to drive planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical works for glove plant construction, installation, and commissioning.

You will oversee installation and commissioning of glove dipping line equipment, piping, utilities, and support structures, ensuring design, quality and safety standards while aligning with lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with PM/Mechanical preference.
• Fresh graduate or 1 year in manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of project mgmt principles and piping/mechanical design basics.
• Understanding of lean methods and continuous improvement tools (5S, RCA, kaizen).
• Proficient in MS Project, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Drive planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical engineering works for glove plant construction, installation, and commissioning.
• Plan and schedule mechanical installation work for glove production lines and plant expansions.
• Prepare work plans, manpower allocations, and material lists.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, and Control teams for full system integration.
• Design and review mechanical drawings, P&ID diagrams, layouts and equipment specs.
• Optimise plant layouts for safety, accessibility, and maintenance efficiency.
• Supervise on-site installation and verify workmanship against standards.
• Coordinate commissioning activities and validate equipment performance against specs.

Job description

Drive the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical engineering works for glove plant construction, installation, and commissioning.

Oversee the installation and commissioning of glove dipping line equipment, piping, utilities, and support structures to meet design, quality, and safety standards.

Coordintate and leading Civil, Electrical, and Control teams toward successful project completion.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals, plans, and mechanical engineering requirements.
• Plan and schedule mechanical installation work for glove production lines and plant expansion projects.
• Prepare detailed work plans, manpower allocation charts, and material requirement lists for project execution.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, and Control teams to achieve full system integration across the production line.
• Design, review, and interpret mechanical drawings, P&ID diagrams, layout plans, and equipment specifications.
• Optimise plant layouts to improve equipment accessibility, maintenance efficiency, and operational safety.
• Supervise on-site mechanical installation work and verify workmanship quality against design standards.
• Coordinate commissioning activities and validate equipment performance against design parameters and operational criteria.

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Project Management or Mechanical preferred) or a related field.
• Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of project management principles and basic piping and mechanical design concepts.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing methods, operational efficiency practices, and continuous improvement tools such as process mapping, RCA, 5S, and kaizen.
• Ability to use basic engineering software and tools, including Microsoft Project, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
