Tecan CDMO Solutions PN Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an electrical/electronics engineer to lead the design of laboratory instruments and automated systems across the full development lifecycle.
The role requires 4–8+ years in instrument or electronic product development, strong embedded systems knowledge, and hands-on PCB design with Altium Designer. Proficiency in Python, C++, or Lua and excellent communication are essential.
You will be involved across the full product development lifecycle - from requirements analysis and system concepts through hardware design, implementation, integration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Lead electrical and electronic design for laboratory instruments and automated systems.
Develop system concepts, hardware architectures and detailed designs.
Design and integrate embedded systems, control systems and sensors.
Troubleshoot, debug and resolve hardware and system level issues.
Develop technical specifications, reports and engineering documentation.
Support design-to-cost and continuous improvement initiatives.
Research and evaluate new technologies and engineering solutions.
Present technical concepts and solutions to engineering teams.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout product development.
About you
Bachelor's degree or university degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
4–8+ years of experience in instrument, module or electronic product development.
Experience in laboratory automation or laboratory instrumentation is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of embedded systems, control systems, sensors and hardware architecture.
Hands-on experience with PCB design and Altium Designer.
Programming experience in Python, C++ and/or Lua.
Good understanding of EMC and design-to-cost principles.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Fluent/good working proficiency in English.
