Job summary

Protech Builders Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to develop and review MSTs and installation procedures, coordinating with site teams to ensure safe, buildable, and efficient methods. You will spend significant time on site to translate field realities into high-quality methodologies.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of LV/MV distribution, containment, and installation methods, plus the ability to manage multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years' experience in building services / industrial / infrastructure electrical projects.
• Experience with MSTs, installation procedures and work packages.
• Strong written skills for MSTs and technical reports.
• Willingness to spend time on site and drive practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and update MSTs, installation procedures and work packages.
• Plan and sequence physical works with project managers and crews.
• Review drawings to ensure constructability and compliance.
• Provide technical on-site support, resolve RFIs and issues.
• Monitor quality, safety and progress in line with MSTs.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Job description

You will be responsible for developing and reviewing Method Statements (MST), coordinating with site teams and ensuring high-quality delivery of electrical works on fast-track projects. This role is very close to the physical work: you will spend time on site, understand how work is actually installed, and translate that into safe, buildable and efficient methods.

Key responsibilities

Develop, review and update MSTs, installation procedures and work packages for electrical systems

Work closely with project managers, supervisors and technicians to plan and sequence physical works

Review drawings, specifications and shop drawings to ensure constructability and compliance

Provide technical support on site: resolve issues, respond to RFIs and propose practical solutions

Monitor quality, safety and progress of electrical works in line with MSTs and project requirements

Support testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including preparation of checklists and reports

Liaise with clients, consultants and main contractors on technical matters when required

About you

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

6+ years' experience in building services / industrial / infrastructure electrical projects

Strong track record with reputable consultants or contractors (hospital, industrial, semiconductor, high-rise or similar)

Good understanding of LV/MV distribution, earthing, containment, cable routing and installation methods

Hands-on mindset and comfortable spending time on site, close to the physical work

Strong written skills for MSTs, reports and technical correspondence

Able to work under time pressure, coordinate with multiple stakeholders and drive solutions
