Job summary

SJ Group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead concept to detailed design of electrical services for building projects.

The role involves preparing tender documents, reviewing drawings, coordinating a team, and managing testing, commissioning, and client meetings. Frequent site/work travel is required, with an emphasis on delivering compliant, cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a BEM recognized University.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in design of electrical, extra low voltage, lightning protection and telecom services.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Team player and capable team leader when required.
• Experience in M&E consulting engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and detailed design for Electrical services.
• Prepare tender documents, specifications and cost estimates.
• Perform tender evaluation and prepare tender evaluation reports.

Job Specification

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a BEM recognized University.
• A minimum 6 years of the relevant experience in design of electrical, extra low voltage, lightning protection and telecommunication services.
• An active team player and team leader whenever required
• Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM and Engineering Design software will be an added advantage.
• Experience in M&E consulting engineering company will be preferred.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Must be willing to work in outstation, whenever required
