Job summary

SHB MALAYSIA AUTOMOTIVE APPLIANCE SDN. BHD. is seeking an experienced EHS professional to lead regulatory compliance, risk assessments, and environmental management at our Johor facility. You will oversee OSHA compliance, environmental permits, and coordination of audits for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

The role requires 5–8 years in EHS within manufacturing, strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and registration as SHO/DOSH. Mandarin is a plus for international teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) / DOSH (JKKP) Green Book registration is mandatory.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing, automotive OEM, or Tier-1 supplier environment.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian EHS regulations, HIRARC, incident investigation, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, scheduled waste, and eSWIS.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage for China-based teams.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance & EHS Management – ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, Environmental Quality Act 1974, DOSH/JKKP, DOE/JAS, Bomba, and local authority requirements.
• Risk Assessment & Safety Control – conduct HIRARC, JSA, inspections, hazard identification, risk controls, and CAPA.
• Environmental & Facility Management – manage scheduled waste, eSWIS, effluent, air and water monitoring, inspections, and permits.
• Incident Investigation & Audit Support – lead investigations, root-cause analysis, statutory reports, and support ISO audits.
• Training & Emergency Response – lead Emergency Response Team, conduct drills and toolbox talks, support Safety & Health Committee.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Regulatory Compliance & EHS Management – Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, Environmental Quality Act 1974, DOSH/JKKP, DOE/JAS, Bomba, and relevant local authority requirements.
• Risk Assessment & Safety Control – Conduct and oversee HIRARC, JSA, workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk controls, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Environmental & Facility Management – Manage scheduled waste, eSWIS, industrial effluent, air and water monitoring, statutory inspections, environmental permits, and related compliance activities.
• Incident Investigation & Audit Support – Lead workplace accident and near-miss investigations, perform root-cause analysis, prepare statutory reports, and support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and customer EHS audits.
• Training & Emergency Response – Lead the Emergency Response Team, organize fire drills, conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks, and support Safety & Health Committee meetings and workplace inspections.

Requirements – Must-Have

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field

Valid Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) / DOSH (JKKP) Green Book registration is mandatory

Minimum 5–8 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing, automotive OEM, or Tier-1 supplier environment
