Job summary

PLP Group is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the engineering design team for data center and critical infrastructure projects across APAC. The role demands strong electrical engineering expertise and hands-on oversight of complex power systems.

You will set technical direction, manage design delivery from concept to commissioning, and drive design quality across multiple projects while coordinating with PM, procurement and site teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 12+ years of engineering experience, preferably in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Proven experience leading engineering/design teams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and data center infrastructure.
• Ability to review complex electrical designs and provide guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering design team, including structure and workload.
• Set technical direction and design standards for the team.
• Oversee design delivery from concept to commissioning.
• Lead design reviews to meet project requirements and standards.
• Provide oversight for MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS and power infrastructure.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts across Electrical, Mechanical, and Controls/BMS.
• Manage resources and schedules across multiple projects.
• Develop team capabilities through coaching and mentoring.
• Drive continuous improvement of design processes and quality.
