Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Malaysia seeks a Design Engineer/Senior Engineer to join the Grid Automation team.

You will design high‑voltage protection and control systems for substations, prepare and review engineering documents, and support testing, commissioning, and project execution with a strong focus on quality and safety. You should bring a degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering, experience with protection schemes, relays, and SAS/RTUs, plus excellent English communication and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience in protection and control engineering for substations or power systems.
Knowledge of high-voltage protection schemes and relay testing.
Familiar with SAS, RTUs, PLCs, and communication gateways is a plus.
Strong English communication and ability to work in multicultural teams.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer high-voltage protection and control systems for substations.
Prepare, review, and maintain engineering documents and schematics.
Configure, test, troubleshoot, and commission protection relays and control systems.
Deliver engineering outputs per customer specs and Hitachi Energy standards.
Manage technical interfaces with customers and stakeholders.
Participate in design reviews and resolve engineering challenges.
Apply lessons learned and industry best practices for continuous improvement.
Support project execution with focus on quality, schedule, and safety.
