Job summary

Hunters International Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Malaysia to design solar PV systems for Large Scale Solar (LSS) projects. You will collaborate with clients, sales and project teams to deliver optimized, compliant, and cost-effective designs that meet technical and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 5+ years of solar PV design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/PVsyst and a strong understanding of engineering principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Renewable Energy.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in solar PV design or related engineering work.
• Experience in LSS solar projects is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst or similar design tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and evaluate project feasibility for LSS solar installations.

Job Purpose

The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for designing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for Large Scale Solar (LSS) projects. The role involves working closely with clients, sales, project teams, and internal stakeholders to develop optimized, compliant, and cost-effective solar system designs that meet technical, regulatory, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and evaluate project feasibility for LSS solar installations
• Design solar PV systems, including module, inverter, mounting structure, and electrical component selection
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and system schematics Perform shading analysis, energy yield simulation, and system optimization using PVsyst
• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, utility standards, building codes, and safety regulations (e.g., ST and relevant bodies)
• Support procurement with technical specifications for equipment sourcing
• Provide technical support during installation, construction, and commissioning stages
• Collaborate with Project, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines
• Assist in resolving technical issues during project execution
• Stay updated with the latest solar technologies and industry best practices
