Wiki Labs Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Systems & Database Infrastructure Engineer to support enterprise server infrastructure and database operations for clients across Malaysia.

You will implement, maintain, and optimise server environments, including Linux, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle, with backup, recovery, and performance tuning across on-site deployments. Strong troubleshooting, security hardening, and collaboration with client teams are essential.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Systems & Database Infrastructure Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure and database operations for our clients.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT engineer with a strong background in systems infrastructure, database administration, or enterprise platform operations.

In this role, you will be involved in implementing, maintaining, and optimising enterprise server infrastructure and database environments. You will work across physical servers, Linux operating systems, database platforms, caching technologies, and enterprise backup and recovery solutions to ensure system availability, performance, and data protection.

This position is suitable for professionals who enjoy hands‑on technical work, complex troubleshooting, infrastructure optimisation, and supporting mission-critical enterprise systems.

Candidates with strong experience in either database administration or systems infrastructure, together with working knowledge of the other area, are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise server infrastructure, including HPE and Dell server environments.

Perform server provisioning, hardware configuration, firmware upgrades, storage provisioning, and infrastructure maintenance.

Support server management tools such as HPE iLO and Dell iDRAC.

Manage storage configurations, RAID, and SAN integration where applicable.

Monitor infrastructure health, system availability, capacity, and performance.

2. Database Administration & Performance Optimisation

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise database platforms, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle Database.

Support database availability, replication, clustering, backup, and recovery operations.

Monitor database performance and conduct troubleshooting, query optimisation, and capacity planning.

Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and routine maintenance.

Ensure database environments meet operational, availability, and performance requirements.

Administer and maintain Linux-based server environments, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

Perform operating system configuration, patching, security hardening, and performance tuning.

Troubleshoot operating system, hardware, database, and application infrastructure issues.

Work with relevant teams to maintain system stability, security, and operational compliance.

4. Backup, Recovery & Business Continuity

Configure, manage, and monitor enterprise backup and recovery solutions.

Support backup operations using platforms such as Cohesity and Veritas NetBackup.

Conduct recovery testing and troubleshoot backup failures.

Support disaster recovery planning and implementation, including Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) requirements.

Maintain data protection procedures and ensure backup and recovery processes meet agreed service levels.

5. Database Caching & Platform Operations

Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Redis or other enterprise caching solutions.

Monitor caching performance, memory utilisation, replication, persistence, and availability.

Troubleshoot platform performance and connectivity issues across infrastructure and database components.

Support system integration and ensure reliable communication between infrastructure and database services.

6. Technical Troubleshooting & Service Delivery

Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure, database, operating system, and backup-related incidents.

Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Participate in technical escalations and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and client stakeholders.

Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and incident reports.

Support infrastructure upgrades, technology migrations, and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

At least 5 years of relevant hands‑on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, systems administration, database administration, or managed services.

Strong practical experience in at least one of the following areas:

Enterprise database administration and performance optimisation.

Server infrastructure and hardware administration.

Linux systems administration and enterprise platform operations.

Enterprise backup, recovery, and data protection.

Good working knowledge of Linux operating systems and enterprise IT environments.

Experience troubleshooting technical issues across servers, operating systems, databases, or infrastructure platforms.

Ability to work independently, manage technical incidents, and communicate effectively with technical teams and clients.

Willingness to work on‑site at the client location in Malaysia.

Technical Skills — Advantageous

Experience in the following technologies will be an advantage:

Caching: Redis Enterprise, Redis clustering, replication, and persistence.

Server Infrastructure: HPE ProLiant, HPE Synergy, Dell PowerEdge, iLO, iDRAC.

Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other Linux distributions.

Backup & Recovery: Cohesity, Veritas NetBackup, enterprise backup and disaster recovery.

Storage: RAID, SAN, storage provisioning, and capacity management.

Automation: Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or other configuration management tools.

Enterprise Environments: High‑availability systems, clustering, system migration, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
