Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to install, configure, and maintain our database systems in Cyberjaya. You will ensure high availability, perform tuning, and support DR activities.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in CS/IT and 3–5 years' relevant experience, with strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, plus cloud database familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of database administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms.
• Experience in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Familiarity with cloud database technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain database systems.
• Monitor database performance and ensure high availability.
• Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Design and maintain database structures, schemas, and data models.
• Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Implement and maintain database security, user access controls, and data protection measures.
• Support database upgrades, patching, and migration activities.
• Configure and maintain database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.
• Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to support business requirements.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and security requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance database performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
