Job summary

Rapsodo in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve our cloud data platform, pipelines, and AI applications. You will design and maintain the analytics stack powering reports, product analytics, and customer insights across teams.

You will lead ingestion projects, optimize costs, mentor teammates, and collaborate with product, sales, and engineering to deliver scalable data solutions. Experience with cloud data platforms, SQL, Python, and modern data tooling is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data/analytics/platform engineering with production ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field; master’s a plus.
• Strong hands-on experience with a major cloud data platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.
• Deep proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with a SQL transformation framework (Dataform, dbt) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience building ingestion pipelines — batch and real-time (e.g. CDC) — and integrating SaaS sources with proper credential hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the cloud data platform end-to-end, including IaC and cost/performance optimization.
• Develop transformation repositories on a multi-layer star schema and maintain orchestration DAGs for ingestion and transformation.
• Build and maintain ingestion for real-time and batch sources across systems and SaaS connectors.
• Lead AI-powered data applications and agents built on the data warehouse, with secure access controls and governance.
