Job summary

Rapsodo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to own and evolve the company’s data platform across analytics, reporting, and AI-driven insights. You will design cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and AI applications turning raw data into trusted information for Product, Sales, Support, and Engineering.

You will lead the cloud data platform, BI workflows, and multi-domain data warehouse while building next-gen AI agents on top of the warehouse for internal and customer-facing use.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform engineering with production ownership
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field; master's a plus
• Strong hands-on experience with major cloud data platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) and IaC tooling
• Deep SQL and Python proficiency; experience with SQL transformation frameworks (dbt/Dataform) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience building ingestion pipelines (batch and real-time) and integrating SaaS sources
• Experience optimising warehouse cost and performance for high-volume data
• Exposure to AI/LLM-powered apps and agents; interest in customer-facing AI
• Strong security mindset; good communication and ownership in fast-paced environments
• Interest in sports technology is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the cloud data platform; maintain infrastructure as code
• Operate and optimize the modern data stack and BI platform; manage upgrades with minimal disruption
• Build and evolve data pipelines across raw, staging, and curated layers
• Lead ingestion projects end-to-end, including product event analytics and device telemetry
• Design AI-powered applications and agents using the data warehouse with proper controls
• Partner with stakeholders to support reporting and quarterly business processes
• Mentor teammates and document architectures, runbooks, and standards
