Job summary

OFS Malaysia, a MODEC Group company, is seeking a Senior Cost Controller based in KL Eco City, Malaysia. You will develop and maintain cost control plans, set up cost breakdown structures, allocate budgets, and consolidate cost data for regular reporting on large projects.

You will review subcontractor invoices, assess change orders, track variances, and contribute to risk management with cost input. AACE certification and SAP/ERP experience are preferred; 8 years in cost engineering in Oil &

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or Operations Management.
• AACE certification (CCT or CCP) preferred.
• 8 years of cost engineering in Oil & Gas industry or 12 years in other industries with understanding of FPSO projects.
• Previous senior role experience preferred.
• Experience with SAP (preferred) or ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Collate and consolidate cost data to support timely reporting.
• Understand and implement approved cost control procedures.
• Develop and maintain detailed cost control plans and WBS in company tools.
• Set-up Cost Breakdown Structure and allocate budget and resources.
• Derive and consolidate commitments and actual costs for portions of scope.
• Review forecasts for scope work using best industry practices.
• Track budget variances and challenge budget owners on deviations.
• Generate and distribute internal cost reports.
• Reconcile project cost reporting with accounting records.
• Review subcontractors’ invoices for accuracy and proper coding.
• Review Change Order requests and variations impacting budget and forecast.
• Coordinate with other project functions to ensure cost control alignment.
• Contribute to Project Risk Management with cost input.
• Perform cost risk analysis to define contingency reserves.
• Provide guidance to less experienced cost control staff.
