Job summary

OFS Malaysia is seeking a Senior Cost Controller to develop and maintain cost control plans for designated project scopes, and to prepare reporting that communicates cost status at regular intervals.

Based at KL Eco City, Malaysia, you will set up cost breakdown structures, allocate budgets, track variances, review subcontractor invoices, and contribute to risk analyses within the MODEC group. Experience with SAP or ERP systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or Operations Management.
• AACE certification (CCT or CCP) preferred.
• 8 years of cost engineering experience in Oil & Gas industry or 12 years of cost engineering experience in other industries with understanding of Oil & Gas process and FPSO projects.
• Previous working experience in a senior role is preferred.
• Experience with SAP (preferred) or different ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Collate data to support cost data consolidation and reporting.
• Understand the requirements of the approved cost control procedures.
• Develop and maintain detailed cost control plans.
• Set-up Cost Breakdown Structure and allocate budget/resources.
• Derive and consolidate the commitments and actual costs.
• Review and update forecasts for budget scope and variances.
• Track budget variances and challenge budget owners on deviations.
• Generate internal cost reports and reconcile with accounting records.
• Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy and cost allocation.
• Review Change Order requests and variations affecting budget and forecasts.
• Coordinate with project functions to ensure Cost Control requirements are met.
• Contribute to Project Risk Management with cost input and potential impacts.
• Perform cost risk analysis to define contingency reserves.
• Provide guidance to less experienced cost control staff.
