Job summary

OFS Malaysia, a MODEC Group company, invites applications for the Senior Cost Controller role based in KL Eco City, Malaysia. You will develop and maintain cost control plans for designated projects, prepare regular cost status reports, and ensure alignment with approved baselines and company procedures.

You will collate data, analyze variances, support budgeting processes, and coach junior staff. Strong SAP/ERP experience and a deep understanding of oil & gas cost engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or Operations Management.
• AACE certification (CCT or CCP) preferred.
• 8 years of cost engineering experience in Oil & Gas or 12 years in other industries with FPSO knowledge.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Collate and compile information to support cost data consolidation, analysis and reporting.
• Ensure adherence to cost control procedures and implementation in work.
• Develop and maintain detailed cost control plans using company tools.
• Set-up Cost Breakdown Structure and allocate budget and data into the system.
• Derive and consolidate commitments and actual costs for portions of the scope.
• Review forecasts and update budgets using best industry practices.
• Track budget variances and challenge deviations from the baseline.
• Generate and distribute internal cost reports per Company standards.
• Reconcile project cost reporting with accounting records.
• Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy and proper cost allocation.
• Review Change Orders and variations impacting budget and forecasts, maintaining registers.
• Coordinate with other functions to ensure cost control compliance and timely data flow.
• Contribute to Project Risk Management with cost inputs on potential impacts.
• Perform cost risk analysis to define contingency reserves.
